Baby Monkey (in-world Store, SL Marketplace, blog) has always been one of my favourite stores in Second Life, ever since I was a newbie. Baby Monkey is now celebrating ten years of operation in SL, and they have just moved to a brand new location! In the new store, there is a freebie available (no need to join their group). Here’s a SLURL that should take you directly there.
My avatar in these photos is wearing the Tay dress by Baby Monkey, which is a Lucky Chair gift in the store; the Lucky Chairs are located in the courtyard of the new store. She is also wearing the Nova suede boots by Baby Monkey, which is a Midnight Mania prize. Both the dress and the boots come with a Basics colour HUD which allows you to change the texture to one of ten colours, as shown in the Midnight Mania panel.
My avatar today is wearing:
Mesh Head: Giselle Bento head by Altamura (this was an Altamura gift from last Christmas at the eBENTO event, you had to join the Altamura group for L$50 to get it)
Mesh Body: Jenny Bento body by Altamura (this was a gift last Christmas from the Women Only Hunt)
Hair: Beyoncé hair by enVOGUE (a gift from last year’s Hair Fair—or was it the year before?)
Dress: Tay dress by Baby Monkey (Lucky Chair prize, no group required)
Boots: Nova suede boots by Baby Monkey (Midnight Mania prize, no group required; the Altamura mesh body has Slink-compatible feet)
The newest round of the Enchantment shopping event is here, with an Alice in Wonderland theme this time around. Bee Dumpling and Solas NaGealai, the owners of Silvan Moon Designs (SL Store, SL Marketplace, Flickr) have designed a truly glorious Queen of Hearts gown that will have you done up in royal style! You can wear it with or without the matching jacket. The texture work, as you can see, is stunning!
Of course, such a sumptuous gown deserves some gloriously over-the-top hair, so I paired the gown with the Yvette hairstyle from Tukinowaguma (TKW). Up and high and off the collar! You can purchase the entire fatpack, in dozens of shades, including a HUD to change the colours of the flowers, for only L$250.
This dress comes in the six colours as shown in the picture below. Each colour is L$450, or you can buy the entire fatpack for only L$2400.
Here’s a SLURL that will take you directly to the Silvan Moon booth at the Alice in Wonderland event, which runs from May 12th to the 31st. Hurry, don’t be late!
Every stylish avatar has some wardrobe essentials: pieces that she turns to time and again to pull together a classic look. Alaskametro and the Free Dove freebie store have teamed up to provide a hunt for ten such wardrobe staples. Six of the items can be found by diligently hunting for the Alaskmetro shopping bags hidden all around the Free Dove freebie store, and another four (much easier to find!) can be found at the Alaskametro store. All are FREE (although you do have to join the Free Dove group to get the freebies hidden there; the group is free to join, however). The hunt will take place only during the month of May.
Each outfit staple comes with a HUD with three different textures. Here is a picture of one of my alts, wearing the T-shirt dress in a beautiful pastel pink:
Mesh Head and Mesh Eyes: Lara mesh head from Genesis Lab (group gift; limited time free group join)
Mesh Body: eBody Classic body (L$1 from various freebie stores, including Ajuda SL Brasil and UniHispana Crea Community Gateway)
Hair: Aria by D!va (free group gift; group is free to join)
Dress: Alaskametro T-Shirt Dress (free; from the Wardrobe Staples Hunt)
Gold Choker and Bracelets: by SECRETS (free from the Free Dove)
Not too long ago, Altamura had a real deal on the Valentina mesh avatar head and body package for only L$300. Well, that deal is over, but Altamura now has another deal at the same price, this time for a male mesh avatar head and body package called Max.
This is a fully-adjustable, fully-featured Bento mesh avatar with separate HUDs for the body (with four skin tones), head, nails, and hand poses, plus a skin and makeup applier and face animation pack. This is an Omega-compatible avatar body with the relay, which is sold separately for L$99. (Note that this deal is the full package, NOT the same as the freebie versions of Max you can get at two freebie stores in SL, which do not offer the choice of four skin tones or all of these HUDs.) Here’s a picture of the head, nails, makeup, and body HUDs:
Here’s a shot of Max wearing some free clothing from Giz Seorn from the New Resident Island village. I adjusted the sliders for his head a little from the default settings. Quite the handsome fellow, don’t you think? This is the lightest of the four skin tones.
You do have to join the Altamura group for L$50 to take advantage of this special (just click the sign underneath the vendor panel). The price for Max without joining the group is L$6,000, so you’re only paying 5% of the full cost when you buy with the group discount! Given that you could spend up to L$5,000 on a Bento mesh head alone, this is really a great deal! Here’s what the Max vendor panel looks like at the eBENTO event:
