Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Free Head and Body Skins from Boataom

Looking for other Black Friday weekend sales in Second Life? Start here.

Like thousands of other stores in Second Life, Boataom is throwing a Black Friday sale, with 60% off everything in the store. But did you know, that if you join the Boataom store group for free, you can pick up some lovely head skins, plus free body skins in the matching skin tones?

Just teleport into the store, head to the back wall, and you will see a generous group gifts section, which includes skins for LeLutka Evo X, Genus, and Catwa mesh heads. And, if you look up on the wall to your left, you can pick up body skins which match the skin tones of the Boataom head skins! The free skins are complete fatpacks of all the Boataom skin tones, and they come in packages for all the major female mesh body brands:

  • Maitreya mesh body applier, Omega applier and Bakes on Mesh skins
  • Legacy mesh body applier and Bakes on Mesh skins
  • Belleza mesh body applier, Omega applier, and Bakes on Mesh skins
  • Slink mesh body applier, Omega applier, and Bakes on Mesh skins
  • Kupra mesh body Bakes on Mesh skins
  • eBody Reborn mesh body Bakes on Mesh skins

In addition to head and body skins, you can also pick up some free makeup, hair, and even a static mesh head! There’s a second static mesh head for only L$10. (I reviewed both of these Boataom mesh heads here; they’re both not that great, sadly, and they don’t compare with the numerous free and inexpensive Bento mesh heads you can get elsewhere.)

Here’s a look I put together, using the free Kaya head which I picked up as a Christmas gift last year from LeLutka, and the free, Maitreya Lara-compatible Atenea mesh body, a Lucky Board gift from LucyBody. On this avatar, I used the Nicole head skin, paired with the Maitreya Bakes on Mesh skin, both in the Latina skin tone:

Looking fabulous! I picked up the hair for free (I believe it was an Advent calendar gift from Firelight Hair from a couple of years ago), and I got the dress for free, too (I joined the Ersch store group when they advertised a free join period, and I can pick up L$250 in free store credit each month as a group member, so I spent some on this dress!)

In fact, the total cost for this avatar look was only L$250 (for the Bakes on Mesh kit for the LucyBody Atenea mesh body, so you can use BoM skins with it). You see, it pays off to be a relentless Second Life freebie fashionista and bargain hunter! 😜 Further proof that you do not need to spend thousands of Linden dollars to have a well put-together avatar.

According to a notice posted to the Boataom group, while the rest of the group gifts will probably stick around, the body skins will only be available for free until December 4th, 2022, so don’t delay! Here’s your taxi.

Happy freebie shopping!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: New Group Gifts from Nuve!

If you want even more news about fabulous freebies and bargains in Second Life than what I write about in this blog, may I recommend the Second Life group I maintain, called the RyanSchultz.com Steals, Deals & Freebies group? The group costs only L$50 to join; more information here.

If you have a LeLutka Evo X or an Akeruka ADVX female mesh head on your avatar, then do I have a sweet deal for you! Join the Nuve group (it’s currently free, for a limited time), and slap the vendor panels under the VIP Gifts sign to pick up a fatpack of Hailey skin, plus a fatpack of Hailey eyebrows, and a fatpack of lipsticks!

Nuve skins include both the head and body skin, in 15 different skintones, each in versions with and without the eyebrows (there’s also a box in the folder to unpack to get the matching ear skins). The Hailey eyebrow fatpack includes tintable eyebrows in six colours (white, blonde, ginger, red, brown, and black) to use with the browless version of the Hailey skin. The Hailey lip tint fatpack includes 16 shades of pink and red, plus two shades of grey, which you can tint any colour you wish!

But wait, there’s more! MUCH more! On the wall behind the front counter of the Nuve store are all the previous group gifts, which include human and fantasy skins for Catwa HDPRO, Genus, LeLutka Evolution classic, and LeLutka Evo X heads, plus eyebrows, eye shadows, eyeliners, and lipsticks. Among these gifts is the Amanda skin, which like the Hailey skin is a complete fatpack with 15 different skintones!

Please note that, according to the Nuve group notices, there is a notice dated Sept. 10th, 2022:

Our VIP group will be free for 3 days only. So if you have friends on a budget, spread the word.

So, hurry down, join the Nuve group while it is still free, and snap up the fabulous freebies! Also, in an earlier group notice, I learned that the store is giving away free weekly store credit:

Y’all keep forgetting to click the reward terminal! So, this is just a reminder. Reward terminal is at the reception desk (tablet on the desk). You can receive L$75 of store credit every week. Terminal resets every Monday.

Store credit accumulates, you won’t lose it. It can be used on every product at [the] mainstore, except products released exclusively in weekend sales.

Here’s where you can find that VIP reward terminal in the store, right next to an assortment of free gifts for everybody who drops by (no group join is required; they are mostly skin tints and Windlight/EEP settings):

This is what the Hailey skin looks like (this avatar is wearing the ivory skin tone, with the blonde Hailey eyebrows and one of the redder Hailey lip tints).

Looking this stunning for zero Linden dollars? Sign me up, honey!

Other styling credits:

TOTAL COST FOR THIS ENTIRE AVATAR LOOK: Only L$250 (for the Atenea Bakes on Mesh kit, but I’m pretty sure I bought it for L$197 back in the day).

So, as you can see, joining the Nuve store group is a no-brainer! The proprietor is very smart to find a way to get potential customers coming into her store every week. And I will definitely join store groups where they give out free credit to group members every week or every month!

Happy freebie shopping! 😉

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Two Beautiful FREE Skins for LeLutka Evo X Women’s Mesh Heads

I came across a couple of really beautiful, high-quality skins for the LeLutka Evo X line of Bento women’s mesh heads, which I wanted to share with you. (Here’s a quick rundown of how the LeLutka Evo X heads differ from regular LeLutka Evo heads. It all comes down to a superior level of skin definition.)

First up is a free head skin from a store called Ives. Join the Ives Beauty VIP group for free and you can pick up several fatpacks of makeup for various popular brands of women’s mesh heads, plus a free head skin for LeLutka Evo X heads called Eden (see arrow):

The Eden skin comes in a complete fatpack of skin tones, in shades to match either the Moccino or the Velour line of body skin tones (which must be purchased separately at their stores, for L$180 per skin tone at Moccino or L$280 per skin tone at Velour). Here, my avatar is wearing the Eden skin in the Moccino Chocolate skin tone:

Isn’t she gorgeous?!?? She is rocking a black businesswoman suit I picked up using the free store credit offer from Monomania from the now-concluded Halloween Shop and Hop event (the shoes were included), and the Joiny hair was a free group gift from EMO-tions Hair (the group is free to join):

A second place where you can pick up a lovely skin for absolutely free is Celebrity Skins by IMPLODE. The Elle skin is a free group gift (the IMPLODE group is free to join), and it comes in five different skin tones—and the package includes Bakes on Mesh skin for the body as well as your LeLutka Evo X mesh head!

Here’s the middle skin tone of the Elle skin by IMPLODE (there are two shades lighter than this, and two shades darker):

She’s a beauty! She’s also rocking the free Yasmine hair which I snapped up from the Sintiklia booth at the Halloween Shop and Hop, plus a free red velvet dress I picked up on the SL Marketplace (Meshbody Classic size only, I’m afraid, which is what this avatar is wearing).

Now I don’t know how long the store groups for IMPLODE and Ives are going to be free to join, so if you’re interested in either of these fabulous freebies, I’d strongly suggest you pick them up as soon as possible!

Happy freebie shopping!

P.S. Did you know that, if you picked up the free group gift of the Lilly or Alain LeLutka Evo mesh heads last Christmas, that you can get them upgraded to the LeLutka Evo X version for free? Just hit the Redelivery terminal in the store, and the latest version will work with both regular LeLetuka Evo skins and LeLutka Evo X skins!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: 7 Deadly S[k]ins L$1 Daily Sales—Pick Up a Fatpack of Skins for Only One Linden Dollar!

Have you joined the RyanSchultz.com Steals, Deals & Freebies group yet? I will be posting EVEN MORE news and tips on finding fabulous freebies and bargains in Second Life than I post here on the blog! More information on this brand new SL group here.

I don’t know how I missed this bargain (my freebie fashionista skills must be slipping!), but Second Life skin maker 7 Deadly S[k]ins has a daily dollarbie deal for you! The store sells skins for a variety of brands of mesh heads, including Genus, LeLutka, Catwa, and LAQ, and the packages I have picked up so far include head skin, plus Bakes on Mesh skin in a range of skin tones (usually, ten).

It can be somewhat tricky to search for the store name because of the weird punctuation, so just do a search for “deadly” under Places in Search, or use this SLURL. 7 Deadly S[k]ins is also one of those annoying stores with a forced, central spawn point, so you’ll land up outside the entrance of the store. Go inside, and you’ll be facing the front counter. Enter the door on the right, then go straight through a second door, then turn left, and the Today’s Offer vendor panel will be on the wall.

You don’t need to join any group; just pay the vendor L$1. The offer changes every day, and consists of a generous fatpack of skins in various skin tones. Here is today’s gift, the Jeanelle skin for LeLutka Evo heads:

Here are a couple of examples of skins from previous days which I picked up for only L$1, the Gaelic and Francis skins, both for Genus mesh heads.

I particularly like this last one, the Francis skin in walnut!

Given that most fatpacks of skins at 7 Deadly S[k]ins sell for L$850, this is quite the bargain! The store sells skins for a variety of brands of mesh heads, so simply show up every day to check out the latest offering! Happy freebie shopping!
