Multiple Malicars

At today’s casual meetup in Zen Garden, there was one poor avatar named Malicar who obviously tried and failed to arrive, leaving four copies of himself hung in the experience!

Think of it as Sansar performance art. Vogue!

Scene of the Day: Voyage Live: Egypt

Voyage Live Egypt 25 August 2017

Today’s image of one of last Friday’s product meetups at the Voyage Live: Egypt experience comes from Ciaran Laval (here’s his Flickr photostream). Jenn, the Lead Community Manager for Sansar, strikes a commanding pose on top of a desk as she addresses her visitors! This picture was shared to the Sansar Flickr group.

Pick of the Day: Monkey Temple

Monkey Temple 2 31 August 2017

Today’s Pick of the Day is Monkey Temple, lovingly and painstakingly created by Anrick and his team at UNIT9. You arrive in a lush, humid jungle, surrounded by the old stone walls of some sort of temple complex, decorated with large carvings of monkey faces. This place really gives you an Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom feeling! As you wander around trying to get your bearings, you discover a couple of games that can be played: a soccer-type game played with a round stone ball, and a sort of basketball-type game played with stone heads.

In the back is gigantic monkey head, jaws agape, that you walk into in order to trigger a teleport to a higher part of the temple. This worked the last time I visited the Monkey Temple. Unfortunately, the teleporter doesn’t seem to work now. Maybe Anrick and his team need to fix it.

Monkey Temple is well worth a visit. It’s a great example of how to create a compelling, immersive atmosphere in a Sansar experience!

Update Sept. 1st: Draxtor Despres reminded me that he did a short video about Anrick and his Monkey Temple experience as part of his Sansar Creator Profile series:

Thanks Drax!

Pick of the Day: VR CULT – The Events Hub

VR CULT 2 30 August 2017

Today’s Pick of the Day is a Sansar experience built by Colpo Wexler called VR CULT – The Events Hub. The experience bills itself as “an experimental space entirely dedicated to virtual events (Art, Design, Fashion, Music)”. At the moment the space hosts exhibits of two Italian artists: Matteo Guariso, a photographer, and Francesco Musante, a painter and illustrator. The Musante exhibit was curated by Mexi Lane.

The galleries are bright and open, and geometric in design. Gently sloping ramps take you through the colourful, playful objects and paintings by Francesco Musante. Large video screens show visitors other art installations by the same artist.

The photography of Matteo Guariso is divided up into two galleries, one devoted to black and white architectural photographs, and the second for a small collection of colour fashion photography and architectural photography.

Scene of the Day: Lusk Test

Lusk Test 29 August 2017

This picture should look familiar to those of you who have visited Luskwood in Second Life! Created in 2003 at the start of Second Life, Luskwood is home to SL’s vast furry population. Sansar user OldVamp has started building a version of Luskwood over at his Lusk Test experience. There’s not much to see yet, but it’s a promising start! Watch for more to come.
