Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: The Good Eggs Hunt

I wanted to alert my blog readers to a free Easter egg hunt in Second Life, where you can pick up both some nice outfits and some great home and garden items.

To get started, teleport here, and click on one of the two Good Eggs Hunt signs:

The starting point of the Good Eggs Hunt

You will receive a wearable Easter basket, and a HUD which gives you the locations of all the stores participating in this hunt. There are six different colours of eggs at each store for you to find, and all of the hunt prizes are free!

Everything Vanity Fair is wearing in the picture below is a hunt prize from Poème: top, skirt, sandals, the funky sunglasses—even the earrings, which come in silver and gold versions!

In the next picture, Vanity is modeling two hunt prizes in her 1950s kitchen: the Celebrate Spring retro dress from Cog & Fleur (which comes with an eight-colour HUD and optional sheer flexiprim overskirt, which is quite lovely), and the Blair pumps in pink from Lindy Modern & Retro Shoes. Lindy has six Easter eggs to find, and each contains pink women’s shoes in various styles (although in this picture, for some reason they are looking a tad on the purple side!):

The Good Eggs Hunt will end on Sunday, April 12th at 12:00 p.m. Second Life Time/Pacific Time, so please don’t wait! Happy hunting!

Second Life Steals, Deals and Freebies: Belle Epoque Quarantine Hunt

News of yet another pandemic season deal in Second Life: vintage clothing retailer Belle Epoque is hosting a Quarantine Hunt, with 40 fabulous prizes for only L$10 each! You are searching for a doctor’s stethoscope as shown in the image below:

So I thought I would have Vanity Fair model eight of the hunt prizes for you.

First up is the red Eleanor 1950s-style dress (prize #9):

Next is the retro Violeta dress (prize #21):

Here’s the Lola dress in blue (#10):

The soft pink Aiala summer dress has a lovely floral accent at the waist (#34):

The sexy Helena dress has horizontal slits running up both sides of the skirt (#6):

The Christie dress hearkens back to the 1920s (#38), and a matching hat with a blonde bob haircut is prize #39 (not shown here):

This lovely, extremely low-cut pink/blue ombre Candela ballgown is a keeper (#37):

I added the blue fur coat, which comes with a handy accessory that freezes the arms and hands as shown (#40):

All Belle Epoque clothing prizes are sized for the Maitreya Lara mesh body only, but there are numerous prizes of furniture and accessories for your home as well.

This is a fairly easy hunt; the stethoscopes are large and hard to miss, and you should be able to find all 40 within an hour. Here’s the SLURL to Belle Epoque. Happy hunting!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: The Stay at Home Club

If you’re in the market for high-quality freebies, have I got a website for you!

It’s new, it’s called The Stay at Home Club, and the club’s founders state:

First of all, we would like to take this chance to thank everyone for all of their time and effort, it is very much appreciated! Let’s spread the love! ♥

We are a group of designers based on the City of Neon Dreams at the HILTED region. During one of the harder times in everyone’s real lives, we came up with the idea to gather a set of gifts to offer to people for free. Together we stay strong and in times like these we need each other.

Originally the City of Neon Dreams team wanted to create a collection of gifts to offer to people, but we decided that it would be a good idea to involve other designers. The more the merrier! We started talking to a few friends and shared our ideas with them, that resulted in so many positive vibes and reactions that we decided to start The Stay at Home Club.

We are open for designers to sign up to share gifts and share the love even more, free gifts for all in those difficult times might distract people for a bit and give them something to enjoy during those hard moments.

And more and more Second Life content creators are joining by the day! The Stay at Home Club organizes its freebies into four categories:

  • Animations and Poses
  • Apparel
  • Avatar Accessories
  • Home and Garden

I’ve already blogged about a free female Bento mesh head available from the Club, but today I wanted to show you a selection of other gifts for both men and women. (You can obtain the SLURLs to visit these stores from the Apparel page on the website, just click on the picture to pull up the Second Life map location.)

First up is the M.CO Paul turtleneck, which comes in a fatpack of colours:

This sexy blue tank top is the Stay at Home gift from the TwoSided store:

Next, let’s look at some gifts of women’s clothing. Look at this lovely white long-sleeved Fae minidress from Salt! (It comes in a Maitreya Lara size only.)

Entice has two Stay at Home gifts, including this beautiful, daringly low-cut purple blouse, called Never Surrender (the other gift is a bra and panties set),

Finally, Poème offers La Rose Blouse, perfect for casual wear with jeans, perhaps puttering around in your garden:

So please stay home during the pandemic, flatten the curve, and pay a virtual visit to the Stay at Home Club! There are literally dozens of outstanding, well-crafted freebies for you to claim, with more being added every day!

Happy freebie shopping! Here’s the website.

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: L$300 Free Store Credit from Gaall, Vaxer, Sweet Temptations, and Chic & Shoes

We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming…”  If you are looking for my blogposts about SARS-CoV-2 and COVID-19, please click here. I have returned to the original purpose of this blog—covering “news and views on social VR, virtual worlds, and the metaverse”.

Yesterday I received a message from Moonshine Allerhand, the co-owner and designer for four different Second Life stores:

Hey!

We know most of you will stay at home, so I want to gift all my loyal subscribers with L$300 store credit. You can choose your favorite store (Gaall, Vaxer, Sweet Temptations or Chic & Shoes).

You can get the credit only once (March 21-25th) and it will be available for you to use until the end of the month (March 31st).

Here are the landmarks of the stores:
Gaall
Vaxer
Sweet Temptations
Chic & Shoes

At each store, there is a large sign advertising the free credit:

Just click on the sign, and on the blue pop-up window that appears, select which one of the four stores for which you want the L$300 credit:

(You might want to visit each of the four store using the SLURLs posted above before you click the Free Credit sign and choose the store; each store has different merchandise.)

Once you have received your credit, just click on the vendor for the item you want (in this example, the Edna sweater and skirt set from Sweet Temptations), In the blue pop-up window, click on the Store Credit button:

You will then be asked to confirm that you want to use your allocated store credit, and the item is delivered to you!

The Edna sweater and skirt set from Sweet Temptations comes in a size specifically to fit Altamura mesh bodies (which this avatar is wearing), as well as Maitreya, Belleza, Slink, and Tonic mesh bodies. The included HUD gives you ten colour and pattern options.

Free fashion feels good! Happy shopping!
