Pick of the Day: Enrico’s Christmas Market

A tradition that started in Germany, the Christkindlmarkt or Weihnachtsmarkt is an outdoor Christmas market held during the four weeks of Advent. Enrico Sands has decided to bring that tradition into Sansar with his experience called Enrico’s Christmas Market.

This being the same Enrico who created Enrico’s Dummy World, there’s no shortage of figures! There’s a band of men dressed up as Santa, and shoppers greeting each other and hurrying from booth to booth. (Although some are not exactly dressed appropriately for the winter weather!)

Surprisingly, there are not a lot of Christmas/winter experiences in Sansar yet (perhaps creators are waiting until it is closer to Christmas). I had expected Linden Lab to have a Christmas contest of some sort, but I assume that all their staff are busy working on the next release of the software, still scheduled for mid-December. In the meantime, pop over to Enrico’s Christmas Market for some virtual Lebkuchen and Glühwein! 

Adventures in Sansar Retailing (#1,749 in a Continuing Series)

There has been a mystery creator on the Sansar Store named SWANZ, who has posted dozens of items like this:

At one point, SWANZ had well over 600 items in the store! Well, some people began to notice a striking similarity between some full-perm items listed in the SL Marketplace, and items SWANZ was selling on the Sansar Store. For example, this tree stump:

…And then people started noticing that the number of items that SWANZ has posted for sale has begun dropping quite precipitously! Right now it’s down to 49! Hmmm…..

UPDATE 12:06 p.m.: Well, SWANZ (or someone from Linden Lab) has deleted every single one of his items from the Sansar Store. Obviously, something was up.

SECOND UPDATE Dec. 6th: Someone (who wishes to remain anonymous) has told me:

Schwanz m (genitive Schwanzes, plural Schwänze, diminutive Schwänzchen n ). A tail. (informal) a cock, a penis. (derogatory, of a person) A prick.
It was prettty obvious from day one :smiley:
I think he was a troll.

Designing Worlds Pays a First Visit to Sansar!

Saffia Widdershins and Elrik Merlin, the co-hosts of the popular and long-running show Designing Worlds, which covers design and designers in virtual worlds, paid their first-ever visit to Sansar! As part of the show, Saffia did an in-depth interview with Linden Lab’s Lead Community Manager, Jenn, and they visited several experiences together.
