Outfit Outlay: Three S$50 Dresses by Debi Baskerville

I’ve been doing some shopping on the Sansar Store for my female alt, Vanity Fair! And I have found three S$50 dresses, all made by Debi Baskerville. Debi tells me that she is new to Marvelous Designer, but she has extensive experience as a seamstress, and it shows! Her Sansar brand is called Journey, and it is rapidly becoming one of my favourite brands in Sansar. It’s reasonably priced, and very well-made, as you can see by these pictures.

Here’s the first dress, a blue knit Cowl Neck Sweater Dress:

And this is the second, a lovely silk Gold Lamé Dress with a flared skirt:

And the third is my favourite, a summery Pink Floral Sundress with an asymmetrical skirt!

As with all Marvelous-Designer-created outfits, you can adjust the garment to your taste in the Lookbook avatar preview window, just by pressing the Simulate Cloth button, and tugging on the clothing with your mouse (see the video in this blogpost).

Outfit Outlay: Santa Outfit for Female Avatars

I put together this Santa-themed outfit and took these pictures at Aude Adored’s Christmas Night experience.

Sansar Store Spotlight: First Tintable Female Hair in Sansar

Sansar creator Snow has put up a free hairstyle for female avatars, a short bob style (it’s also available in a multi-coloured version):

You can use the regular Sansar colour buttons or the colour wheel in Lookbook to tint this hairstyle to any colour you wish. Here I picked the deafult Sansar brown.

And this is Vanity Fair in her new ‘do, admiring the beautiful Christmas tree at Christmas Night. This hair is noticeably shiny—in Second Life you would call it “materials enabled”—which is not personally my taste, but hey, you get no rights to complain about a free item! Thank you, Snow!

In addition to Snow’s hair, Vanity is wearing the retro Hip and Casual Green Tunic by Whystler, which I blogged earlier.

UPDATE 5:24 p.m.: I notice that Snow has put up the same version of this female bob hairstyle, but with “reduced shininess”. It’s still free, so be sure to pick up a copy!

Pick of the Day: Christmas Night

As of today, it’s less than a month until Christmas Day! Seasonal events are in full swing over at Second Life, so I thought I’d check the Sansar Atlas to see what Christmas experiences were there. One of them is Christmas Night, by Aude Adored, owner of the Poisoned Diamond store in SL. She writes in her description:

Christmas is here. No one should have to spend the christmas night alone, so this is the place for everyone who wants to celebrate and make new friends.

This is a warm and inviting experience, dimly lit with Christmas lights and a collection of white pillar candles in the fireplace. Stockings are hung on the mantle.

Christmas Night 26 Nov 2017

This is a lovingly-created space, and I hope that it will be used as Aude intended: for people to gather and enjoy each other’s company over the holidays, which can be a lonely time for many people.
