Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Menswear Gifts from the MEN ONLY Shopping Event

The October round of the MEN ONLY shopping event in Second Life runs from Oct. 20th to Nov. 15th, 2021, and there are trick-or-treat pumpkins at all the vendor booths. While some of the pumpkins are tricks (no gifts), others have a free present for you if you click on them (you will first need to join the “MEN ONLY by Flair for Events” group; this group is free to join).

Here are four gifts for men which I quite liked, modeled by one of my male alts. First we have this complete men’s outfit from ALANTORI—shirt, black pants, and black loafers—which come with a HUD to change the shirt to one of ten colours. This dressy ensemble comes in sizes for Signature and Slink male mesh bodies, as well as a version for classic, system avatars (along with body alphas). Please note that this is the kind of outfit which should work well on other brands of mesh bodies (e.g. Belleza Jake or Altamura), provided you alpha out the body underneath it, using that body’s HUD.

This black Markus pullover from INSIGHT (with the added touch of a pair of sunglasses hanging from the neckline) comes in the following sizes: Belleza Jake, Signature Gianni, and Meshbody Legacy.

The gift from JUSTICE are these beautifully-detailed Reilly pants, which come with a HUD to change the metals on the buttons and the chain to any of 6 different metal textures. These casual brown pants come in sizes to fit Signature Gianni and Geralt; Belleza Jake; and Slink male mesh bodies.

There are (of course!) some Halloween-themed gifts at the October round of the MEN ONLY event, such as these fun and funky skull-adorned black combat boots from Lapointe & Bastchild:

Novata Second Life has released a 7-minute video highlighting a few more of the gifts you can pick up at the MEN ONLY shopping event:

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 21st, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

I’m running a bit late today again, my apologies!

We’re getting down to crunch time in the last few days leading up to Christmas Day, and boy, do I ever have a haul of Christmas presents for you today! Today’s gift from Entice is this cute brown dress (the Entice group is free to join):

From the 7 Deadly S[k]ins Advent calendar comes the Hope skin in the darker, coconut skin tone, which come in Bakes an Mesh/system and Omega applier versions, plus a fatpack of the Gillian skins in five skin tones, also in BoM and Omega versions:

7 Deadly S[k]ins Hope skin in the coconut skin tone
7 Deadly S[k]ins Gillian skin in the oak skin tone

Remember that the 7 Deadly S[k]ins store group does cost L$1,000 to join during December, but it’s worth it. (Or, if you prefer, you can pick up all the previous days’ gifts for just L$25 each, using my daily Advent calendar blogposts as a guide.) Also, don’t forget that, unlike other store calendars, the 7 Deadly S[k]ins Advent calendar has gifts every single day, right up until New Year’s Day!

Here are two December 21st gifts from the Advent calendar at the eBENTO shopping event which I quite liked: the striking Zoey hoop earrings by Supernatural (which come in silver and gold versions, with two HUDs to change the gemstones to match any outfit!), and the eye-catching, crystal-adorned black plat pumps from Celestina’s Weddings. There is no cost to join the eBENTO group.

Below are two 12 Days of Christmas calendar gifts, worn together: the fur coat and hat are from the calendar at No Shot, and the thigh-high laced leather boots are today’s gift from the Baby Monkey calendar. You do not need to join any group to pick up these gits, and if you prefer, you can wait until Christmas Eve or Christmas Day and pick up all the presents at one time! I just love it when Second Life stores do not force me to log in every day to pick up that day’s item. (I mean, it’s fun, but by this stage, it’s rather wearisome.)

The gift from the Advent calendar at Vagrant is this red top (the Vagrant group is free to join):

The gift from Justice is a relative rarity from an SL Advent calendar: a Christmas-themed item of apparel that is not bright red or green! This shoulder-baring Skye shirt with the tied sleeves comes in this muted Christmas ornament pattern, which I find a very refreshing change. The Justice group is free to join.

Today’s gift from the 12 Days of Christmas calendar at JUMO is this stunning Arden gown in red (the JUMO group is free to join):

Finally, these last two freebies are not Advent calendar gifts, but the free Christmas gifts from my friend Solas NaGealai of BlueMoon Enterprise are so wonderful that I had to add them to this post! You will have to join the Blue Moon group for free to pick up these group gifts.

The women’s present is this gorgeous red and gold ballgown, sure to turn heads at your next Christmas gala!

And the men’s gift is the red and gold Mouse King outfit, straight out of the classic E.T.A. Hoffmann tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King, which includes the crown, cape, and even the boots! You can wear this outfit with or without the optional mouse head.

Happy freebie shopping!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 17th, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

My fashion model today for all of these pictures (except the final one) is the newly-rechristened Moesha Heartsong*, a budding Second Life supermodel 😉 who is rocking the Maitreya Lara body she picked up at the recently-concluded 50% Off Sale at Maitreya! She is also wearing the Akeruka Lulu Bento mesh head, one of their group gifts I picked up a couple of years ago, plus the Octave hairstyle by Analog Dog.

Today’s gift from the Advent calendar at Virtue is this bright yellow Diana jumpsuit! I love it when stores offer non-Christmas items in their calendars, and this outfit is perfect for when you want to explore Second Life’s endless virtual summer. The Virtue group is free to join.

Here Moesha models the Pressure top in aqua from Entice, which is today’s present, along with yesterday’s gift of the Never Surrender pants in teal (which you can buy at Entice, along with all of the previous days’ Advent calendar gifts, for only L$50). The Entice group is free to join.

Next up is the Lily-Rose dress from Baby Monkey, with an optional belt, worn with yesterday’s gift of platform pumps. All apparel and footwear from the 12 Days of Christmas calendar at Baby Monkey comes with a three-colour mini-HUD, in pink, cream and chocolate brown, giving you a colour-coordinated capsule wardrobe!

You do not need to join any group to use this calendar, just pay L$1 for each gift and it will be automatically refunded. Remember that Baby Monkey is one of those calendars that allows you to visit between Christmas Eve and New Year’s Day to pick up all the 12 Days of Christmas gifts at one time! Very convenient.

Below Moesha is wearing three different gifts: the daring cropped hoodie is from Vagrant (their group is free to join), the studded leggings are from Justice (the group is free to join), and the platform sneakers are today’s gift from NYNE Hair (this group is also free to join).

Here’s a closeup on those sneakers from NYNE, which are quite nice!

From Essenz comes these London shoes in a sand colour. The Essenz group costs L$350 to join, or if you prefer, non group members can buy them for only L$50. You can purchase all the previous days’ Advent calendar gifts for L$50 each, too!

I do have to say that 7 Deadly S[k]ins have been consistently knocking it out of the ballpark this year with their wonderful Advent calendar gifts! The store group costs L$1,000 to join, but it’s worth it. (Or, if you like, you can pick up all the previous days’ gifts for just L$25 each, using my daily Advent calendar blogposts as a guide.)

Today’s gift is a fatpack of Kamilla skins in both Omega appliers and Bakes on Mesh/system versions, in five lighter skin tones, including the caramel one shown here. I love the light dusting of freckles on the nose! This is a keeper.

Happy freebie shopping!

*By the way, I am still looking for someone who would like to inherit Moesha Heartsong via my will, which I am currently in the process of drawing up with my lawyer; more details here. It would please me greatly to know that Moesha will still be providing entertainment and enjoyment to a second owner after I am gone. Just be advised that Auntie Ryan still plans to live at least another quarter-century, sweetheart 😉

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 6th, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

(I’m sorry this is a bit late today; I had a bad bout of insomnia last night, and I slept in until just after noon today as a result, so I am running late!)

I think today’s Advent calendar haul is the best yet!

Today’s gift from the advent calendar at Justice is this rough-stitched, dark brown festive shirt (the Justice group is free to join):

Firelight Hair is offering up this long hairstyle, with a mini-HUD with three fantasy fae (sometimes called “unicorn”) colours! It’s not exactly to my personal taste, but it might be perfect for you! (The Firelight group is free to join.)

Next up is the Sandra Bakes on Mesh skin in the sandy skin tone, the gift from Wow Skins (the Wow group costs L$199 to join):

And the gift from 7 Deadly S[k}ins is the Hope skin in snow, one of their palest skin tones! I quite like this one, so I will be wearing this skin on the rest of my travels around the grid today. It looks lovely on the recent free Chelsea head from LOGO, and it includes an Omega lipstick applier, if you find the lips too pale! There’s also a male skin in the package. (Please note that during December, the 7 Deadly S[k]ins group costs L$1,000 to join, but you do get gifts every day of December!)

Now, let’s take a look at some more apparel and footwear gifts. Today’s Advent calendar gift from Essenz are these fun and funky, golden yellow Pompei boots (L$50 for non-members, or pay the L$350 group join fee to pick up all of the Advent Calendar gifts from Essenz, plus a fatpack of the versatile Wales pumps):

The Love Story dress in violet is the Advent calendar gift from Entice (the Entice group is free to join):

Virtue‘s present today is the Kamala Christmas outfit, consisting of two pieces: a green sweater and a high-waisted, long red skirt (the Virtue group is free to join):

Moonstar’s gift is this Noella red maxi-dress (the Moonstar Advent calendar is free; you do not need to join any group).

The Advent calendar gift from Celestina’s Weddings is this truly stunning gold-and-pink Locu ballgown (the Celestina’s group is free to join):

Here’s a closeup of the bodice of the Locu gown…such beautiful detail!

And finally, something for the men…the free gift from the Advent Calendar at the Mishmash Fusion store is this Candy Cane tuxedo, which comes in sizes to fit Belleza Jake, Signature Gianni, Slink, and Meshbody Legacy male mesh bodies (you do not need to join any group to pick up this gift). The red dress shoes are included!
