Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: The 2021 Holiday Shop and Hop Is On Until January 2nd, 2022!

Second Life’s annual Holiday Shop and Hop event runs until January 2nd, 2022, and now that the Advent calendars have completed for the season, it’s time to pick up some fabulous freebies!

This year, instead of writing up a blogpost, and posting pictures of what I think are the best gifts, I have decided to post a detailed notecard of Ryan’s picks of the best menswear, womenswear, and home decor from the Shop and Hop. More information on how to join the RyanSchultz.com Steals, Deals & Freebies group can be found here (the group join fee is only L$50, and you will find it money well spent, as I often share many bargains and freebies which never make it to this blog!).

Once you join the group (search for “ryanschultz”, all one word, under Groups in Search; it’s the only one that matches), just look for the notice titled “HOLIDAY SHOP AND HOP December 2021”, which contains a comprehensive list of gifts organized by sim name, with the exact SLURLs to each of the gifts so you can teleport in and out! I made it very easy for you!

Happy freebie shopping!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Free Home Decor from Trompe L’Oeil

Have you joined the RyanSchultz.com Steals, Deals & Freebies group yet? I will be posting EVEN MORE news and tips on finding fabulous freebies and bargains in Second Life than I post here on the blog! More information on this brand new SL group here.

I don’t usually write about Second Life home and garden decoration on this blog, but today I am making an exception for a treasure trove of free gifts available from a store called Trompe L’Oeil (pronounced trohmp luh-yuh, which is French for “optical illusion”, or literally “trick the eye”—a great name for a virtual furniture and home store!).

Trompe L’Oeil was one of those stores who were very generous during the Stay at Home Club, rotating their gifts of homes and chairs regularly, and continuing to give out gifts even after the Stay at Home Club ended! Today, I wanted to bring your attention to a selection of free gifts (no group is needed to pick these up). Right next to the main entrance to the store are three free gifts as shown below:

The gifts include a vintage end table in ten different colours, a dresser with a fun billiard-ball design (13 different versions), and what must be the biggest collection of free floor and table lamps anywhere on the grid—18 lamps in total!

Also, on the other side of the courtyard, with the Christmas decorations (look for a teepee made of blankets), Trompe L’Oeil is giving away two sets of Christmas decorations, which were Advent calendar gifts from 2012 and 2013 (you can purchase similar sets from more recent years on the large board to the right of this display, for L$750 each set).

Here’s a selection of the group gifts unpacked. There’s something for everyone!

Here’s your taxi to Trompe L’Oeil…happy freebie shopping!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Apple Fall

I don’t usually blog about deals on items for your home and garden, but Apple Fall is having such an amazing sale that I am going to break that rule, just this once!

In a message sent out to the Apple Fall Facebook group, the store announced:

Apple Fall is having a Black Friday Sale! And guess what? Everything is L$50, or less! We are not kidding you.

The Sale has begun, and we hope you are ready to grab everything Apple Fall related, and stuff those inventories to the max.

The sim will only have 12 residents at a time due to technical difficulties, we won’t close the sale anytime soon as we don’t want any of you to miss out.

Apple Fall offers the highest-quality home and garden furnishings, buildings, and skyboxes. And yes, EVERYTHING in the store, from tiny teapots to huge houses, is L$50 (or less) each! This is such a great deal that it was worth fighting to get into the sim (as you can expect, it’s jam-packed). It looks as though the sale will continue for a while, but I would still advise you to get down to Apple Fall as soon as you can, since I don’t know when this sale will end.

So even though I have no land to place it on, I decided to buy the Harwick Manor house for only L$50 (hey, it was on sale!):

I also picked up some lovely furniture from the new Fulwood Collection for my Linden Home in Bellisseria:

There’s also a corner in the store with numerous freebies, including a wingback chair in three colours. Also, there are a few nice freebies on the chest table in the Fulwood Collection display in-store. So hurry down!
