RuPaul’s Drag Race is my guilty TV pleasure. I am currently watching Season 10, as the drag queens viciously battle each other for the crown. It got me wondering whether or not I could create a convincing drag queen in Second Life. And, with the help of products from two SL stores, I succeeded in making myself into a real drag queen!
As Karin Gillespie said: “The higher the hair, the closer to God.” And this glorious wig is from the marvelous selection of drag queen wigs from ZsaZsa’s House of Beauty in Tableau. My makeup comes from Dotty’s Secret Drag Queen Makeup and Accessories Store (it’s available in Catwa and Omega appliers for mesh avatar heads, as well as a facial tattoo for older system avatars). Here’s an overall view of my outfit:
The rest of my outfit was free! The slinky black evening gown by Emerald Couture and the chunky gold-and-diamond jewelry by JUMO I got from the excellent Freebie Store at Ajuda SL Brasil. And under the gown, I am wearing the black pumps from the Iliana avatar from SL’s own starter avatar selection.
There you go—drag on a dime! (Now, let’s see how long I can hang out here at Frank’s before they call security…).
