Sinespace’s Weekly Home Decorating Contests: You Could Win US$500!

If you have a knack for home decorating, Sinespace has two contests for you!

Did you know that the virtual world Sinespace hosts weekly contests? There’s a page that lists all the challenges, in four sections:

  • Featured challenges (currently a carnival games contest that ends Feb. 10th, 2020, with a first prize of US$5,000; details here);
  • A list of contests which are ending soon;
  • A list of weekly contests (each with a prize of US$500);
  • A scrollable list of past weekly contests, with the winners.

If you like to decorate your home, you’re in luck! Both this week’s and next week’s challenges are Home Decorating contests, with a cash prize of US$500 for the best entry. (Remember, every avatar gets a free home region when they join!)

Decorate your Sinespace home and enter the contests this week and next!

This week’s contest ends January 24th, 2020:

Make a beautifully decorated home using region templates and furniture from the Shop, take a snapshot or video and submit it along with the region name. Share your submission to social! Post pics or video of your entry to Instagram, Twitter, or Flickr, and be sure to tag us @sinewavespace!

Entries will be judged based on usefulness, creativity, originality, interactivity and effective use of Sinespace components. The winner recieves $500.

High Fidelity Has Effectively Shut Down, But Dr. Fran’s Weekly Salon Will Continue

Well, High Fidelity has effectively shut down as of January 15th, 2020, and you will no longer be able to create any new accounts, but since the platform is distributed, anybody who already has a HiFi account can still visit High Fidelity and participate in events.

Dr. Fran has hosted a weekly salon in High Fidelity for quite some time, where avatars gather to discuss a given topic.

Today’s salon topic is sadly relevant in light of recent events:

Dr. Fran’s original domain, DocSalon, has already been shut down, as the domain name she bought from High Fidelity has now expired. But Thoys has come to the rescue, with a new domain. Here’s the new address for today’s discussion, happening at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time (that link should automatically open your HiFi client software).

High Fidelity will no longer be updating their client software (in fact, they have already shut down their website), but the good news is that at least three different forks of the open-source software are in the works.

UPDATED! Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Le Fashion Whore

Le Fashion Whore should become a regular stop for freebie fashionistas!

You can join their store group for free, which allows you to win some lovely items of clothing from their 18 lucky boards. The letters turn over relatively quickly, and there is usually a small crowd gathered, so your chances of picking up something for free, without waiting a long time, are pretty good:

But the main reason I am telling you about Le Fashion Whore is that, if you act quickly, you can pick up not one, but two gift cards for the store!

UPDATE Jan. 20th, 2020: Well, LeeLee is learning why you shouldn’t give away L$2,990 in free store credit all at once! The sim where her store is located has been like this all day (and the highest was 81 avatars at one point!):
