There are not one, but two different in-world events taking place in Sansar on Saturday, October 21st.
First, Draxtor Despres and Strawberry Singh are hosting another Atlas Hopping event, this time focusing on all the new Hallowe’en experiences! Meet up is, as usual, at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time/Sansar Time, at the newly-redecorated 114 Harvest experience. I’m not sure exactly which experiences Berry and Drax are planning to visit, but it promises to be great fun!
The second event is also on Saturday, October 21st, at 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time/Sansar Time at SIN’s Studio Club – Karaoke & Hang Out. Jenn posted to the official Sansar blog:
Come enjoy the hauntingly beautiful sounds of VR Karaoke at the Studio Club – Karaoke & Hang-Out. Are you brave enough to show off your vocal stylings? Aspire to be Sansar’s Next Top Talent? Saturday, October 21st at 2 pm (PT) is your chance to bring your karaoke A-game. The only catch is – since it’s Halloween – the tune must be in theme with the season. Monster Mash, Purple People Eater, anything that screams HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
See you at one or both events Oct. 21st in this Hallowe’en season at Sansar!
I have blogged about this experience often; it is the starting point for our Atlas Hopping adventures every weekend. But I have not yet chosen 114 Harvest as my Pick of the Day! I am rectifying that situation now.
When you arrive at Draxtor Despres’ and Ria’s Sansar experience, you find yourself in a California suburban neighbourhood. Head for the house at the end of the street, with the red car parked in the driveway.
Enter the house, turn left, and head down the stairs to the basement. There’s a comfortable rec room with a TV and a German board game, Mensch ärgere Dich nicht (“Don’t Get Angry”) spread out on the coffee table. If you have an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive VR headset you can actually pick up the individual pieces and play a game of Mensch ärgere Dich nicht!
In a corner of the basement is Drax’s recording studio.
There’s still the remains of Drax’s birthday party on a table next to the fridge!
Ria has done a wonderful job making the items that make up this experience. It’s become a favourite gathering spot for many avatars in Sansar. Drax has written about the goal of 114 Harvest:
When we embarked on this journey a couple months back, all we wanted to prove is that social VR can work if there is engaging “place-making” going on. What started as a tiny little basement grew conceptually, and (this is what we hope!) will grow even more now that you can write the story of this place together with us.
