Pick of the Day: La Planète à Roulettes (Plus a Free Women’s Outfit)

Today I am combining a Pick of the Day post (a look at a new Sansar experience) with an Outfit Outlay post (a look at a new free women’s outfit). Killing two birds with one stone! I might do this more often from now on.

La Planète à Roulettes (French for “The Wheeled Planet”) is a brand-new Sansar experience by EricNum. It’s a small castle perched on a giant golden ball, set in the middle of a calm sea, with the sound of seagulls off in the distance. It’s very peaceful.

The castle is decorated with many pictures of futuristic scenarios for space exploration.

A welcome video directs you to a companion website, Planete-A-Roulettes.net, which is the home page of Olivier Boisard.

The website contains lots of information and videos of Olivier’s various projects (all in French). It would appear that he has a deep interest in space exploration!

Back at his experience, there’s a large set of golden gears located in front of the castle, running a large clock:

Our experience explorer, Vanity Fair, is wearing two free items of clothing from the Sansar Store:

My First (and Second) Real Sale!

Well, the free items in my store, RSVF, are selling quite well, but of course, I’m not making any profit on those!

But yesterday I had my very first paying customer! Thank you, Radioactive Rosca, for buying my men’s T-shirt with the parrot design!

I made S$5 on the sale, which works out to about a U.S./Canadian nickel, but hey, I’ll take it!

My virtual fashion empire is officially launched! Woot!! And as a thank you to Radioactive Rosca, I made a bright yellow T-shirt with the international radioactive hazard symbol, as he had asked me to do! It’s also available for sale for only S$5 on the Sansar Store:

…and Rosca immediately bought it, and wore it to 114 Harvest! Here is a photo of Rosca with Drax!

And that’s my SECOND real sale! I’m on a roll!!

Blast from the Past: A Look Back at Cloud Party

As I mentioned before, I used to create clothing for male and female avatars in the late, lamented virtual world called Cloud Party. Well, what image should Facebook offer up as a memory today but this one, a screen capture of my online store in Cloud Party!

(Cloud Party shut down for good on February 21st, 2014. I still miss the place sometimes. I first met several people there that I now know on Sansar.)

I gave away my clothing for free then, and I always got a small thrill whenever I saw someone else wearing something that I had made! That was back in 2012/2013, my first foray into virtual fashion. I find it very fitting that this image comes up unexpectedly again as I embark on a new adventure in virtual fashion design in a new virtual world, Sansar!

RSVF Fashions for Female Avatars

I spent several hours this morning working in Marvelous Designer on some new garments for women for my RSVF fashion line. Today I was learning how to texture items, using textures that I found on Pixabay. All textures from Pixabay are covered under a CC0 Creative Commons licence; they are free for commercial use and no attribution is required, which is perfect for me as I work my way up the learning curve!

So I created another, shorter skirt this time, and selected a beige fabric for it:

And then I created this off-the-shoulder top and picked a pretty floral pattern for it:

And here is Vanity Fair in Ryan’s Garden, showing off her new wardrobe! Total cost for this outfit is S$5 (S$5 for the top and the skirt is free!).
