Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: How to Get 101 Womenswear Fatpacks for Only L$100!

I invite you to join the RyanSchultz.com Discord server, the world’s first cross-worlds discussion forum! Over 460 people from around the world, representing many different social VR platforms and virtual worlds (including Second Life), meet daily to chat, discuss, debate, and argue about the ever-evolving metaverse, and the companies building it.

A “fatpack” is a commonly-used term in Second Life, used to refer to a package of every single available colour and pattern of a particular outfit. SL stores often offer fatpacks to their shoppers as a cheaper alternative to buying every single colour of an item of apparel, footwear, or a hairstyle separately.

Well, Scandalize (which has always been among the most generous stores on the grid when it comes to group gifts) is now offering twenty fatpacks of female outfits! Just walk behind the front desk, and they are on the back of the wall behind the desk, opposite a large Christmas tree.

Christmas came early, folks! You do have to join the Scandalize group for L$100 to pick up these group gifts, but most people already have a membership in that group to pick up past freebies from their vast and wonderful gift wall, and to smack their Lucky Boards when their initial comes up. If not, then L$100 is a pittance—it works out to only five Linden dollars per fatpack!

Among these gifts, I was absolutely delighted to discover a fatpack of a gown which I had previously purchased in a couple of different shades for Vanity Fair, the elegant Azahara ballgown! It’s one of my favourite ballgowns, perfect for seasonal festivities! Here I have paired it with a free gift from the 12 Days of Christmas calendar at JUMO, the Gala Rachel golden tiara and matching costume-jewelry earrings:

This gown comes with an optional belt with a large bow at the back, plus a long fur stole for that extra touch of luxury! The fatpack includes a HUD to change the colours of the gown, bow, and stole separately.

By the way, if you haven’t done so yet, I would very strongly encourage you to join the free Scandals SL Frees & News group (a separate group from the main ‘[SCANDALIZE]’ group), and scoop up all the free womenswear from the nearby Scandalize Outlet store (more information here and here).

Adding the 81 free womenswear fatpacks from the Scandalize outlet store to the 20 fatpacks Scandalize is now giving you as Christmas gifts, that is a staggering 101 outfit fatpacks, for a total outlay of L$100—one Linden dollar per fatpack! Seriously the best deal on the grid!

Vanity Fair is wearing:

  • Gown: Azahara ballgown by Scandalize (one of the 20 outfits now available as a free group gift; the Scandalize group costs L$100 to join)
  • Shoes (not shown): Heidi pumps by Garbaggio
  • Crown and earrings: Gala Rachel set from JUMO (a free gift from this year’s 12 Days of Christmas calendar)
  • Champagne glass: by Hive, which includes the Bento hold pose (more information here)
  • Cigarette holder: by Kunst, which comes complete with Bento hand and face animations (further details here)

She is also wearing:

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 15th, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

I have quite the haul of goodies today to show you!

Today’s gift from Essenz are these delightful laced-up green Iceland boots, perfect for braving whatever virtual winter weather Second Life may throw at you, in style! These fur-trimmed high-heel boots come in sizes to fit Maitreya, Belleza, and Slink mesh feet (not Meshbody Legacy, though). The Iceland boots come with a HUD to change the metals, the colour of the sole, and the colour and texture of the fur! The Essenz group costs L$350 to join, or if you just want to get these Iceland boots, non group members can purchase them for only L$50.

Today’s Advent calendar gift from Firelight Hair is the Belle hairstyle, which comes with a mini-HUD of three blonde colours as shown below (the Firelight group is free to join):

And here’s today’s gift from Virtue (the Virtue group is free to join):

I am quite taken—literally tickled pink!—with this pink, daringly low-cut blouse, which is the present from the Advent calendar at Entice (the Entice group is free to join):

From 7 Deadly S[k]ins comes the Asmita skin, which comes in a fatpack of lighter skin tones (the example in the picture below is called pineapple). Remember that the 7 Deadly S[k]ins group costs L$1,000 to join during the month of December, and you can purchase the previous days’ Advent calendar gifts from the store for only L$25 each.

The present from Wow Skins is the Libby Bakes on Mesh skin in the sandy skin tone (the Wow group costs L$199 to join):

The December 14th gift from the 12 Days of Christmas calendar at Baby Monkey is this beautifully textured leather skirt, which includes a 3-colour HUD as shown:

Finally, among today’s gifts from the eBENTO shopping event calendar is the following emerald green Brigitte ballgown from Glitter, which comes with a HUD to change the colour of the tiny top and bottom pearls (which are separate attachments you can add or remove as you wish) to one of four options: black, silver, gold, or a sparkly transparent texture!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 14th, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

Today’s gift from Virtue is the Felicia outfit…the package says it’s green, but I see it more as light blue! The Virtue group is free to join.

The present from the Advent calendar at Firelight Hair is this longer Raquel hairstyle, which includes a mini-HUD with three blonde and red colours as shown:

Today’s version of the Hope Bakes on Mesh skin is in a darker skin tone called Walnut. The 7 Deadly S[k]ins group costs L$1,000 to join during the month of December, and you can purchase the previous days’ Advent calendar gifts from the store for only L$25 each.

Finally, we have these St. Lucia shoes in purple from Essenz, which come in sizes to fit Maitreya, Belleza, and Legacy mesh feet (not Slink). The shoes come with a HUD to change the metals and the colour of the sole. The Essenz group costs L$350 to join, or if you just want to get this single pair of shoes, non group members can purchase them for only L$50.

Today’s gift from Baby Monkey are these Esther boots. The Advent calendar at Baby Monkey does not require a group join; you simply pay L$1 for each day’s gift, and your Linden dollar will automatically be refunded. All gifts will be available and free until January 1st, 2021, so if you choose, you can visit anytime between Christmas Eve and the end of the year to pick up all the presents at one time! Very handy.

And finally, from JUMO we receive the Gala Rachel gold crown and earrings:

Remember, JUMO is another Advent calendar where you can swoop down and vacuum up all the fabulous free gifts between Christmas and New Year’s Day!

Happy freebie shopping!

Second Life Steals, Deals, and Freebies: Advent Calendar Gifts for December 13th, 2020

Here’s my blogpost with links to four lists of Advent Calendars and 12 Days of Christmas Calendars, plus my “Top Ten” Calendars you should not miss in 2020!

OK I had a later than usual start today, so I do apologize for those of you who are relying on these daily blogposts to hit the ground running!

First up is today’s gift from Virtue, this eye-catching pink and white striped asymmetrical Vivien dress (the Virtue group is free to join):

Today’s skin gift from Wow Skins is this Kiara Bakes on Mesh skin, in the sandy skin tone. It is intended for Genus heads, but it also looks good on the recent group gift of the Chelsea head from LOGO (the Wow group costs L$199 to join):

Today’s skin tone for the Hope skin from 7 Deadly S[k]ins is taupe, which as you can see is quite attractive! The 7 Deadly S[k]ins group costs L$1,000 to join during the month of December, and you can purchase the previous days’ Advent calendar gifts from the store for only L$25 each

The present from Essenz are these light pink Toledo high-heeled sandals, which come in sizes to fit Maitreya, Belleza, and Meshbody Legacy feet. (The Essenz group costs L$350 to join, or if you just want to get this single pair of shoes, non group members can purchase them for only L$50. By the way, I have noticed that many of Essenz’s Advent calendar gifts this year do not come in sizes to fit Slink mesh feet.)

By the way, here’s a pro tip for you. Did you know that some Advent and 12 Days of Christmas calendars allow you to visit on the final day, and pick up all the free gifts at one time? This year, I noticed that the calendars at Altamura, Ari-Pari, Baby Monkey, and JUMO all fall into this category. So save yourself the time and hassle, and just pay one visit on December 24th or 25th, and vacuum up all the fabulous freebies at once! Here are the Dec. 12th and 13th gifts from JUMO, the vividly-patterned Vicky gown and Verena shoes:

Finally, I have a couple of freebies that are not Advent calendar gifts, but rather than make a separate blogpost, I thought I’d toss them into this one. Firestorm is giving away a free fatpack of the unisex Jamie hairstyle by Firelight Hair at this SLURL, but I don’t know for how long, so you might want to pop down there today. This lovely short hairstyle reminds me of nothing so much as Julie Andrew’s hair in the 1965 movie The Sound of Music!

But I saved the best gift for last! Teleport to the BUENO store, join their group for free, and pick up this pink Barbie 4×4! (I’d hurry down for this one too, before the Mattel legal department intervenes for copyright infringement!).

Simply rezz the 4×4, get in, and you’re all set for a road trip!

The included animations are great—you even look behind you when you hit reverse! Thanks to the Pure Eggs & Spam blog for the heads up.
